" Si vous deviez emmener un seul objet sur une île déserte, quel serait-il? "

​Une île à l’Espérance est un projet pensé par les artistes photographes Charlotte Audoynaud et Alice Delanghe porté par l’association COEF 180. Le duo a souhaité investir la maison de quartier de l’Espérance de Saint-Malo pour en faire un espace d’accueil et de rencontre des habitants des environs. Les deux artistes proposaient aux participants d’apporter avec eux un objet qui leur est très cher, voire l’objet qu’ils emporteraient avec eux sur une île déserte. Sur place, ils étaient invités à raconter les histoires liées à leur objet et ont ensuite été photographiés à ses côtés. Ce coffret de cartes postales est le résultat de ces rencontres. Elle est une formalisation des liens qui nous tiennent attachés aux choses inanimées ou aux compagnons animaux qui partagent nos vies.

‘If you had to take just one object to a desert island, what would it be? ’


Une île à l'Espérance is a project conceived by photographic artists Charlotte Audoynaud and Alice Delanghe and supported by the association COEF 180. The duo wanted to take over the Espérance community centre in Saint-Malo and turn it into a place where local residents could meet and get to know each other. The two artists invited participants to bring with them an object that was very dear to them, or even the object they would take with them to a desert island. On the spot, they were invited to tell the stories associated with their object and were then photographed alongside it. This box of postcards is the result of these encounters. It is a formalisation of the ties that keep us attached to the inanimate things or animal companions that share our lives.
